Jakub Piotrowski

I’m deeply passionate about reverse engineering, classic car restoration, and American motorsports. My focus has always been on enhancing performance in measurable, motorsport-level ways and keeping classic cars alive with practical, long-lasting solutions.

Through years of hands-on experience with engine rebuilds, performance upgrades, and custom fabrication, I’ve developed a strong skill set driven by curiosity and creativity. I take pride in solving complex mechanical challenges—especially when it leads to real improvements in power, handling, and durability.

My work is fueled by a love for V8 engines, high-performance builds, and the raw, unfiltered experience of classic cars. I’m not interested in modern vehicles overloaded with plastic and unnecessary features; I prefer machines that stay true to their roots. My own spartan Suzuki Samurai, despite lacking a V8, reflects that mindset—simple, rugged, and built for purpose.

I’m always eager to learn and apply new skills when they align with these core values. Whether it’s refining performance, creating custom parts, or helping others keep their classic cars on the road, I’m driven by a passion for machines that are meant to be driven and enjoyed.

My Projects

Currently, I’m working on a 1972 Dodge Polara. So far, I’ve rebuilt the engine, widened the wheels, and swapped the axle with one from a Mustang. My latest focus has been fixing rust and welding the floorpan.

  • From 2011 to 2018, I worked on a personal car project centered around a 1989 Dodge B250 van, developing extensive technical expertise in engine tuning and performance calculations. I treated this van as my private mobile dyno room, incorporating significant performance modifications and even racing it. The work required advanced knowledge and meticulous preparation, including head porting, camshaft replacement, and installing a shift kit in the transmission. It was a highly experimental and rewarding endeavor, and my proudest passion. This project also connected me with the RodzFactory workshop and helped pioneer these topics within my community.

  • I also run a YouTube channel where I teach on a variety of topics. Sharing the knowledge I’ve gained is something I genuinely enjoy. My content primarily targets Polish enthusiasts who are new to classic American cars, a niche but dedicated audience. Although creating videos is time-consuming, I haven’t given up on this project. To complement the channel, I write website articles for more in-depth content. Articles allow me to share knowledge that requires greater explanation than what’s feasible in video format.
